120Hz, HDR10 display
The display of Poco X3 Pro is basically the same 6.67 inch IPS display you will find on POCO X3 NFC. Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro again has a Full HD Plus resolution which is 1080 x 2400 pixels. You’ve also got HFR10 support here and colors are sort of reasonably punchy on the saturated. You can always leave it on the auto and it will adjust the color temperature and everything based on your environment. Good and wide viewing angles here on the Pro here as well as the brightest level.
Once again at the POCO X3 Pro has a 120 Hertz refresh rate. Strange that it is set to 60 by default. You just have to tune it up if you want that smooth finish. There is a stereo speaker set up here just in case you are wondering. This display supports 240 her touch samplings. You will certainly find it responsive enough with its completely flat panel as well.
Design
The Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro is quite hefty at 215 grams making it just as heavy as quite a lot of the meatiest flagships out there. You’ve got a GorillaGglass six frontend which is an upgrade over the original X3 NFC. Here you’ve also got a pre-installed screen protector. And flip it around and it has a plastic back. You can grab the Poco X3 Pro in three different colors namely Phantom Black, Frost Blue, and Metal Bronze. There is a subtle pop of POCO branding on the back panel.
You’ve got kind of a two-tone effect because of the racing stripes down at the edges and then the phone is glossy in the middle. Other noteworthy design features include an edge-mounted fingerprint center and down below is the headphone jack. That second slot of the SIM tray can be used for micro SD memory cards instead.
Performance
The big new upgrade on the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro over that older NFC is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 (7 nm) chipset. You also got to chose from storage option of 128GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 6GB RAM, and 256GB 8GB RAM. This is DDR 4 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage. By the way, like the standard SD865 from 2020, the 860 does not come with a built-in 5G modem and POCO hasn’t shoved one in here either. So it is LTE connectivity all the way. If that’s gonna bother you, you might wanna get something like the Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G or Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G. If you’re gonna be playing for an on the Poco X3 Pro, no worries since you’ve got that liquid cool technology.
Platform
What you get on the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro is the latest freshest Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 for POCO like stock Android until you sort of dive into the settings. And that’s where you start to see the MIUI vibes. Some of the fresh new features like the control center, which was basically ripped straight off of iOS, give you fast access. Game turbo and video toolbox are present and correct. Video toolbox is particularly great if you’re watching something on YouTube and you don’t really need the video, you just want the audio. You can have the screen off, but the audio is still going.
Unfortunately, you do get the occasional ads popping up here on the POCO launcher. But with Xiaomi premium smartphones this never happens. This happens rarely but usually only when you are installing a new app. Now for security needs, you do have that edge-mounted fingerprint sensor and it is quick to unlock, very responsive. All you need to do is basically tap your finger against the scanner. Face recognition is present here as well. And as for the storage options Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro offers either 128 or 256 GB depending on how much you choose to spend. And it’s UFS 3.1 as well which is great to see.
Cameras
Let’s check out that quad lens array camera tech of the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro. The primary shooter is a 48-megapixel lens that uses 4-in-1 pixel binning. So you will actually be ending up with a 12-megapixel image. You’ve got all the usual camera features like HDR action which is set to Auto by default. There is that AI mode as well which can just help to analyze your scene and suggest particular modes. You’ve also got an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.
There is certainly a Telephoto lens on here but 2x digital zoom. The other two lenses are a basic 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro) and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) for your portrait shots. Finally for the cameras you’ve got a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. It offers the usual AI magic, you’ve got your beautiful action.
In the box
Within Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro’s yellow box you’ve got one Poco X3 Pro, a whole bunch of course stickers, a silicone case, a highly exciting Type-C USB cable, and a chunky adapter as well. And that’s it for the box.
