Samsung Galaxy M52 5G detailed description
Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Build
These Samsung mid-range devices are made from plastic. But one neat touch here on the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G is the striped texture that is present beneath the back panel. It is different from the texture we see in Samsung’s A-Series smartphones. What is also different is that you also don’t get IP-rated dust and water resistance as you do on the likes of the Galaxy A52. You also get a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometrics.
Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Cameras
Selfies are taken with a 32 MP, f/2.2, 26mm (wide) front-facing camera that shoots 12 mega photos by default. Sharpness and detail are solid in good lighting with consistent skin tones. Videos can be captured with the main camera at 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps resolution. And the quality is very good with plenty of detail. You can also shoot in 4k with the ultra-wide. Bu t do note that there’s no stabilization in 4k though. You can find EIS only in 1080p@30fps.
With the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G come a 64 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/1.97″, 0.7um, PDAF main, a 12 MP, f/2.2, 123˚, (ultrawide), 1/3.06″, 1.12µm, and a 5 MP, f/2.4, (macro). This device doesn’t have a depth sensor though.
There are some differences in quality, thanks to the processing, especially compared to the previous generation. 16-megapixel photos from the main and camera are very good with crisp detail, vivid colors, and a reasonably wide dynamic range. Galaxy M52 5G’s portrait mode works without issues.
At night photos from the main cam aren’t half bad. Turning on the main camera’s night mode results in cropped 12-megapixel photos.
Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Display
This time around the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G is a 6.7 inches display. As far as specs go it is AMOLED with a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and a fast 120 Hz refresh rate. This is something that the previous Samsung Galaxy M51 didn’t have.
And the extra smoothness is nice, even though the refresh rate isn’t adaptive to save energy. The color profile of this display can be quite accurate depending on your settings. And brightness is good too. There’s no dynamic option, unfortunately. This means it can’t automatically choose whether it should stick at 60 Hertz or bump it up to 90 Hertz.
Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Platform and Performance
When it comes to chipset performance, the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G runs on the Qualcomm SM7325 Snapdragon 778G 5G (6 nm) chipset. It is a high-end midrange chip that provides near flagship-grade performance.
And both everyday tasks and games run great. Storage is expandable on this phone via micro SD over the 128 gigs built-in. And out of its box, it will run Android 11, One UI 3.1. It’s worth noting that Samsung is already rolling out its, new Android 12, One UI 4 to some devices. This will eventually come to the M52 5G you can be sure of that.
For some reason, Samsung has moved away from the feature that made the previous Galaxy M51 phone stand out. The huge 7,000 mAh battery. This time around it is 5,000 mA. This means that the M52 5G is actually lighter hence easier to handle the previous model.
And still battery life is amazing here despite the dropping off of a whopping 2,000 mAh capacity. Charging speed is slower here but at least you get a 50W adapter with it. You will be able to charge from 0 to 30% in half an hour. There is support for 25W charging and that bumps things up to 50% in the same amount of time.
