Did you know that the PlayStation was the result of a failed collaboration between Sony and Nintendo in the 90s Nintendo pulled the plug on the project, after which Sony unveiled their very first game console to the global game market, the PlayStation, in September 1995. Compared to the competition, this game console did not use game cartridges, but released games on CD-ROMs. The success became so great that it became the first console to be sold 100 million times. That success was achieved within nine and a half years, but in the meantime, it had become clear that Sony had made many gaming enthusiasts happy with a new type of console.
